ID Scan - Users can now switch language mid-flow

We think some ID Scan sessions were dropping off simply because users couldn't understand the instructions. Users can now switch language at the start of the scan flow. It's a small change that should make a real difference.

ID Scan - Face liveness component updated

We've upgraded the face liveness component to the latest version. The start and finish screens are now properly configurable again, something that got broken in a previous update.

ID Scan - Improved Document Scanning Guidance

To make the scanning process clearer, we've added animated visuals that guide you through flipping your identity document to scan the other side. This helps avoid confusion, particularly with passports, ensuring both sides of the document are captured correctly and reducing friction during the verification flow.

Sign by CM.com - Improved Signature Display in Microsoft Edge

We've resolved an issue where digital signatures were not visually displayed when opening signed PDF documents using the new PDF Viewer in Microsoft Edge. Previously, while the signature was validated in the background, it remained invisible to the user, making it impossible to visually confirm the document's integrity. Signed documents now display correctly, allowing you to both see and validate signatures regardless of your Edge PDF Viewer settings.

2026 January | Verification Services - ID Scan

Granular Field Control for ID Scan

We've introduced a new optional extractFields setting for the ID Scan task, giving you greater control over which data fields are extracted during the verification process. This feature has been designed with data minimization principles in mind, helping you align with privacy regulations and reduce unnecessary data collection.

When configured, you can specify exactly which text and graphic fields should be extracted, stored, and returned in results, for example, only retrieving a date of birth to validate a person's age without collecting additional personal details. Fields not included in the configuration will not be processed or stored. If the setting is left empty or not provided, all fields will be extracted as usual, ensuring full backward compatibility.

Documentation has been been updated to include guidance on how to use this setting, along with a practical use case demonstrating age validation using ID Scan.

Improved Handling of Unsupported Document Variants

For certain identity documents where key fields such as the expiry date cannot be reliably extracted due to inconsistent formatting, users are now guided to scan an alternative document. This improves the overall reliability and user experience of the verification flow.

We've enhanced the Sign product with improved text overlay support in the PDF viewer, including clickable link handling and correct rendering of rotated pages. These updates bring us closer to full accessibility compliance and future certification readiness.

Improved Error Handling – Sign by CM.com

When a client account is disabled, users are now properly redirected to an account disabled page instead of encountering silent failures. This ensures a clearer and more informative experience when access is restricted.

2025 June | Verification Services - ID Scan

Image Quality Check

We are introducing a new feature to enhance the accuracy of document verification by implementing an image quality check. By setting strictImageQuality to true in the processParams, the system will evaluate the image quality status and factor it into the document’s optical and overall status. This feature will be configurable on a per-account or per-client basis.

Desired Fields

Currently, there is no way to enforce the presence of specific fields (e.g., Personal Number) on the front side of a document without requesting the backside unnecessarily. While there is an existing setting to check for these fields, it does not enforce their presence. To address this, we are introducing a new DesiredField setting. This will allow the system to:

  1. Check for any desired fields (e.g., Personal Number, Date of Birth, etc.) on the front side of the document.

  2. If the field is not found, automatically request the backside.

  3. If the field is not found on the backside either, the transaction will still complete successfully.

This solution is expected to reduce unnecessary backside requests, streamlining the process and improving efficiency.

We are excited to announce a complete redesign of the ID Scan and Face Liveness screens. This update brings a fresh, modern look to the scanning process, improving the overall user experience. The new design provides clearer feedback to users about required actions, making the scanning process more efficient and effective. The redesign ensures a seamless flow between the ID Scan and Face Liveness steps, creating a cohesive and user-friendly experience.

Google Fonts Integration

To provide more customization options for customers, we are integrating Google Fonts into the ID Scan flow. This feature addresses frequent customer requests for the ability to use non-standard fonts. By leveraging Google Fonts, we can offer a wide selection of font families, enabling customers to personalize their ID Scan flow. This enhancement will simplify font management and provide a more personalized experience for customers.

Clearer Invoices for Identity Services Usage

Customers can now enjoy enhanced transparency on their invoices, which clearly outline which of their clients are using specific Identity Services. Each service used by a client is itemized on a separate line, detailing the number of transactions and, when applicable, the minimum commitment. This improvement provides a clear view of service usage, committed usage, and any additional transactions billed, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of all charges.

ID Scan - ID Document Scanning Customization

We have expanded customization options for our ID Scan service. You can now choose to scan only the front of any document, independent of whether a personal number is present, giving you greater control over the scanning process. Additionally, we've improved the layout of scan and retry pages. Action buttons are now prominently displayed, guiding your users to the next best steps with ease and clarity.

Improvements

For our iDIN service, we have added a response message indicating when the data is expired (> 30 seconds) while a successful response is returned but no data is included.

To ensure compliance with ETSI TS 119 461, we meticulously maintain records of the identity proofing process for the requisite retention period stipulated by the identity proofing context. As a result, we not only furnish a basic audit report of the ID Scan but also provide an exhaustive audit report that is digitally signed. Furthermore:

  • Segregated the FullAuth and FullProcess ID Scan functionalities, facilitating clear differentiation between these two distinct document scan tasks.
